It’s time to start setting up your actual online business so you can work from home. I’ll be posting several articles this week to help you find the right tools and avenues to market your business. However, before we start with the actual how and where, we need to look at the what – what is. You’ll need some basic definitions in order to understand your specific market and choosing the domain name for your business. Things like; what is a Theme Keyword, Broad and Phrase searches, micro niche, etc. These are all terms you need to have a better understanding of before setting up your online business.
First, we need to look at your competition and how it will impact your choice of domains. You can search for this in Google. When you search in an open box the answer Google returns will be all competitors that mention your keywords, but if you search in a specific phrase – you use “ “ around your search words, then the results will only be those in specific order and connection to “your keyword” – this gives you your direct competitors. When searching for these words, you want to narrow them down – reduce the competition, find a “micro” niche, as it offers easier ways to make money and costs less than playing with the big boys. A “micro niche” is a word grouping with less than 50,000 competitors. Try searching Google on a set of words both with “ “ and without the quote marks – you’ll see the difference can sometimes be huge. Remember, for the best opportunities keep your competitors to less than 50,000 and certainly do not go over 100,000 unless you have some solid background on internet marketing.
Next, let’s look at some basic definitions and examples. Searches can lead to money – so you want to maximize everything to get as many searches each day. Adwords are the words businesses are willing to pay for to generate traffic to their sites and hopefully have their visitor buy something. You’ll use these Adwords to find and develop your own online market. I suggest using Google Adwords Keyword Tools. There are many paid programs available, but Google is free, easy to use and the data is very reliable. You will want to search your words under both Broad and Phrase – Broad, which includes all pieces and parts of your words within a group of words – and Phrase, which are the EXACT words in a search. Broad gives you the overall market available from those words. Phrase narrows it to just the “specific” words. Here’s an example: your words are “Pashmina Scarves” – broad searches: “Susan’s scarf was made from pashmina wool” – phrase search: “Susan’s store carries “pashmina scarves”. See how “phrase” is more specific – phrase should be your target market for your product’s traffic, but you can get overflow from the broad searches as well, which is a good thing.
Once you have your primary set of words this will be your Theme Keyword – the focus of your site and business. A micro niche example might be ladies accessories, to ladies headwear, to scarves, to pashmina scarves – this would be a micro niche – “pashmina scarves”. Another example might be hiking, to survival equipment, to survival first aid, to “snake bite kits for hikers”. These would be the keywords you base all of your research on to make sure the numbers are right for a micro niche with good traffic volume, which should be no less than 100 searches per day. For instance, broad “pashmina scarves” is 8,100/month and phrase is 4,400/month. These numbers would show you good phrase traffic with an excellent broad overflow available.
Now that you have some basic tools and definitions, get ready to search for your domain and focus on kicking off your stay at home jobs business. As always . . . . .

Be well.

I do not endorse software very often but this new service is fantastic. It is a key phrase tool which has a database of millions of keywords showing the adwords traffic count per month along with the google competition count and other data.
At a click of a button you can find keyword phrases with traffic but no competition and I’ve used it already to get internet pages and sites to the top of the various search engines, even without backlinks.

Search engine optimization starts with keyword analysis. Keyword analysis means finding search phrases with high volume search and low competition. Competition evaluation is a difficult task. You need to check many parameters for top ranking websites in order to estimate their “strength”. All the operations can be done manually–with tools freely available on the web. A much better solution is to use specialized tools like Market Samurai. This is a dedicated keyword research and SEO tool with modular design. You can check out why it is the top of Search Engine Marketing tools and also it’s my favorite.

How much could you make with this blog if you had thousands of product seeking visitors coming to it every day? What if you could do this without using search engine optimization, adwords, socials, article marketing or YouTube?
